A96 closed to the east of Elgin
The A96 trunk road is in the process of being closed to the east of Elgin because of a suspected gas leak.
Diversions are being put in the place and eastbound traffic should take the A941 to Lossiemouth and then the B9103 to Sherrifston. Westbound traffic should take the same route in reverse.
It is not known at this early stage how long the road closure might be in place.
Moray Council area stretches from Tomintoul in the south to the shores of the Moray Firth, from Keith in the east to Forres in the west. The council and its 4,500 employees respond to the needs of 92,500 residents in this beautiful part of Scotland, which nestles between Aberdeenshire and the Highlands.
