Aberlour Primary Nursery inspection report published
Children at Aberlour Primary Nursery have been praised for being confident, happy and creative in a recent inspection carried out by Education Scotland.
Inspectors highlighted the positive relationships between staff, children and parents, noting that these strong connections help meet children’s individual needs and support positive outcomes for all.
The report also commended the nursery’s high-quality early learning and childcare practice, recognising the supportive leadership of the manager and team. Inspectors observed that children benefit from a wide range of motivating and engaging learning experiences, helping them make very good progress.
During the inspection, the nursery was evaluated across three quality indicators: Curriculum; Learning, teaching and assessment; and Wellbeing, inclusion and equality. All three areas were rated as ‘very good’, reflecting the high standard of care and learning provided.
The report did note two areas for continued development. Inspectors encouraged staff to continue developing the use of digital technology to further enrich children’s experiences. They also suggested reviewing children’s arrival and departure arrangements, while recognising the unique context of sharing these areas with another setting.
Aberlour Primary Nursery’s Manager, Carol Newlands, said: “We’re delighted with the report and proud of our team. It recognises the caring environment we provide and the strong relationships we have with children and families. We’ll continue building on this work to give every child the best start.”
Moray Council’s Chief Education Officer, Vivienne Cross, added: “This is a fantastic result for Aberlour Primary Nursery. Being rated ‘very good’ across all three quality indicators reflects the hard work of staff and the strong learning experience they’ve built with children and families. Congratulations to everyone involved, and I look forward to seeing the nursery continue developing digital learning and refining arrival and departure arrangements.”
