A very exciting point has been reached where a review will be carried out of how the needs of pupils with additional support needs (ASN) are met in schools in Moray.

The review will take place over the next nine months and will present an opportunity to contribute to shaping future provision in Moray.

It has been agreed that a long term strategy should be drawn up to improve ASN provision in Moray within existing budgets. This will involve consultation with any and all interested parties.

Following consultation, the responses will be collated, considered and an ASN strategy for Moray will be drafted. This will then be consulted on before the final version is publicised and acted on. Following this, working groups will be set up to take developments forward.

Pupils, parents, teachers, partners and any interested people will have the opportunity to have their views heard. Staff, pupil and partner views will be gathered through consultations arranged by schools. If there is sufficient interest from parents and partners, discussion groups will be organised where appropriate.

If you would like to participate in group discussion please e mail ASNStrategy@moray.gov.uk by Friday, June 24. Please include the following information - name, address, phone number, e mail address and, if you are a parent, the school your child attends.
