
Awards celebrate Moray’s sports volunteers and projects
The dedication and impact of sports volunteers and community initiatives will take centre stage at the second annual Moray Active Schools and Community Sport Hub Recognition Awards.
The celebration, taking place at Elgin Bowling Club on Friday 20 June, shines a spotlight on outstanding individuals and projects that promote sport and physical activity throughout the region.
Nearly 30 nominees are competing across the five categories of Young Leader of the Year; School Sport Volunteer of the Year; Club Coach Volunteer of the Year; School/Community Sport Project of the Year; Community Sport Hub Volunteer of the Year.
Chair of Moray Council’s Education, Children’s and Leisure Services Committee, Cllr Kathleen Robertson, said: “These awards are a fantastic way to recognise the work of those who give up their time to support sport and physical activity across Moray.
“I’d like to congratulate all of those nominated – their achievements are outstanding, and their dedication and passion is genuinely inspiring. I hope everyone who attends has a great night too.”
