Awareness roadshows on self-directed support

Moray Council’s self-directed support team will be hosting a series of roadshows over the next few weeks to help raise awareness.

Moray Council’s self-directed support team will be hosting a series of roadshows over the next few weeks to help raise awareness.

Self-directed support is a way of providing support to individuals who are eligible for community care services and puts them in control by giving them a greater say about the type of support they receive.

Individuals are best placed to say what would make a difference to them, their families and their carers and Moray Council has been striving to empower and give greater choice and control to individuals who require support through community care.

Anyone who would like to know more about self-directed support, or who may already be in receipt of self-directed support or direct payments and have any questions, is welcome to drop in at any of the roadshows.

They are being held at Elgin library on Monday, June 13 from 10.30am to 1.30pm, Buckie library on Monday, June 20 from 11.30am to 1.30pm, Forres House Community Centre on Thursday, June 23 from 11.30am to 1.30pm, Aberlour library on Monday, June 27 from 11.30am to 1.30pm and Keith library on Thursday, June 30 from 11.30am to 1.30pm.

Those who cannot make the roadshows but would like to know more should contact Michelle Fleming at Moray Council on 01343 567080 or their social worker/community care officer.
