Buckie’s Fishermen’s Hall approved for Community Asset Transfer
Moray Council has this week approved the request for a Community Asset Transfer for Buckie’s Fishermen’s Hall.
The Fishermen’s Hall Trust was established in 2018 to prepare a request to take the Hall, which was built in 1886 for and by the fishing community, into community ownership. Council officers have now been authorised to apply to the Sheriff Court for consent to transfer ownership.
Chair of Moray Council’s Corporate Committee, Cllr Aaron McLean, said: “This has been a long process for the Trust, owing to covid pandemic related delays, so I’m delighted for the community that this transfer has been approved.
“I wish the Trust and the wider Buckie community the very best for the future of the Fishermen’s Hall and look forward to seeing it flourish.”
