Business urged to sign up to comfort scheme

BUSINESSES in Moray are urged to sign up to a new comfort scheme to boost the number of toilets available to the public.

The scheme aims to make clean, safe and accessible toilets available in convenient and popular locations for residents, visitors and tourists.

Local premises such as cafes, pubs, public buildings and hotels that join the scheme will allow members of the public to use their toilet facilities free of charge during normal opening hours, without the need for them to make a purchase.

Moray Council is working with the national ‘Use Our Loos’ scheme, which is sponsored by bleach makers Domestos and the British Toilet Association.

The partnership claims that membership of the scheme can bring additional benefits to businesses.

Participating businesses will receive a welcome pack with cleaning products, samples and discounts as a thank you for supporting the scheme.

By joining the business will be promoted as a member via the Moray Council website, on partner sites and through the national ‘Use Our Loos’ campaign. They will also be included on the Great British Public Toilet Map.

Businesses will be contacted over the next few weeks.

If any business owner is interested in joining the scheme or would like information in the meantime, please contact Yvonne Joss , telephone 01343 563159 or email Yvonne.joss@moray.gov.uk.

Famous for its colony of dolphins, fabulous beaches and more malt whisky distilleries than any where else in Scotland, Moray is a thriving area and a great place to live. Nestling between Aberdeenshire and the Highlands, Moray stretches from Tomintoul in the south to the shores of the Moray Firth, from Keith in the east to Brodie Castle in the west.
