Catchment changes approved

Plans to redraw the catchment area boundaries for two secondary schools in Moray were approved by councillors today.

The revised boundaries for Buckie High and Keith Grammar relate solely to pupils leaving Cullen Primary School.

Only a small number of pupils will be affected by the change, which will see the catchment boundary line moved further to the south.

Almost all respondents to a public consultation agreed with the amendment to the catchments, as did Education Scotland, and the change will take effect from the start of the new session in August.

Moray Council area stretches from Tomintoul in the south to the shores of the Moray Firth, from Keith in the east to Forres in the west. The council and its 4,500 employees respond to the needs of 95,510 residents in this beautiful part of Scotland, which nestles between Aberdeenshire and the Highlands.
