Celebrate World Book Day at Elgin Library

Celebrate World Book Day at Elgin Library

YOUNG readers are invited to celebrate World Book Day at Elgin Library on Thursday 7 March.

The theme this year is ‘share a story’. Storytelling events will be held during the course of the day. The topic for stories is 'Enter into Outer Space', with exciting tales of adventure and discovery. Look out for staff members dressed up as aliens and other fantastic creatures!

The day will blast off at 10am with a Bookbug session for babies and toddlers, followed by story time suitable for under 5s at 11am. In the morning, pupils from the East End Primary 7 class will beam in to share their stories with Curious Minds Nursery when they will read their selected books to the pre-school nursery class.

In the evening a Teddy Bears’ Sleepover will take place from 5.30–6.15 pm, with registration from 5 pm. This event is suitable for children aged 3 years and over. Bring your favourite teddy or cuddly toy along and enjoy songs, rhymes and stories which are out of this world! Leave your bear overnight and check out the security camera photographs the day after on the library Facebook page. Booking is required.

Famous for its colony of dolphins, fabulous beaches and more malt whisky distilleries than any where else in Scotland, Moray is a thriving area and a great place to live. Nestling between Aberdeenshire and the Highlands, Moray stretches from Tomintoul in the south to the shores of the Moray Firth, from Keith in the east to Brodie Castle in the west.
