Cluny are quiz champs

Five teams competed in the final of this year’s quiz for Moray primary schools.

None of the five – Bishopmill, Botriphnie, Cluny, Dyke and Hythehill – had won the contest previously so it was inevitable there would be a new name on the shield.

For the first few round the scores were close but in the end the team from Cluny Primary romped home to win.

The chairman of Moray Council’s children and young people’s services committee, Councillor Tim Eagle, who presented the shield, is pictured with the new quiz champions who also received a book for their school courtesy of Yeadon’s bookshop in Elgin.

Moray Council area stretches from Tomintoul in the south to the shores of the Moray Firth, from Keith in the east to Forres in the west. The council and its 4,500 employees respond to the needs of 95,510 residents in this beautiful part of Scotland, which nestles between Aberdeenshire and the Highlands.
