Communities Day coming up at Elgin library

ELGIN library is to play host to a Communities Day later this month.

On Tuesday 22 January there is an entire day of activities scheduled, from 10am - 8pm, and you can find out what services the library provides, what's on in Elgin and how you can get involved.

Local groups and organisations will be on hand to provide information on health and well-being, volunteering opportunities and much more. Pick up a special library passport and travel round the library to collect signatures from stall holders to be in with a chance of winning a prize donated by Tesco Elgin or a free lunch for two at Cobbs Café’.

Activities during the day include a family Bookbug session at 10.30am and storytime at 2pm. These events provide an opportunity for young and old to enjoy stories, rhymes and songs. Babies, toddlers, parents, grandparents, aunties and uncles are all welcome to come along and join in the fun! .

There will be opportunities to get started with your Scottish family history with sessions for beginners at 10.30am and 2pm.

The local heritage centre will be showcasing the wealth of material in their care with displays of old photographs, books and a variety of documents for the budding historian.

Playlist Cuppatime drop-in sessions are being held, offering music and paraphernalia from the recent past with refreshments provided by Tesco Elgin.
