Community groups secure Keystone Award

Community groups which have taken on town or village halls, and community centres in Moray, are being presented with awards this morning.

Cullen Community and Residential Centre; Findochty Town Hall; Fisherman’s Hall, Buckie; Longmore Community Hall, Keith; Elgin Town Hall and Forres Town Hall have achieved the KeyStone standard – proving they can meet the legal and regulatory requirements for running buildings, including governance, managing money and resources, and working with others.

Groups taking on leases for halls and community centres earmarked for closure have been supported through the Keystone Awards by Moray Council's Community Support Unit, with six securing it to date.

Awards were presented by Moray Council’s Chief Executive, Roddy Burns.

“Congratulations to the groups receiving the KeyStone Award today. This achievement is testament to the hard work and commitment to all involved in providing excellent facilities for communities across Moray.”
