Consultation on Cullen catchment

Public consultation is to be carried out on proposals to redraw the catchment areas for Buckie High School and Keith Grammar School in as far as they relate to the Cullen area.

The Cullen Primary School catchment zone is split between the two secondary schools.

The proposed new boundary line is further south than the existing line and is roughly halfway between Buckie and Keith.

The main effect of the proposed change is that the communities of Deskford, Berryhillock and Hoggie will transfer to the Buckie High catchment area.

Moray Council’s children and young people’s services committee today agreed to put the proposals out to public consultation which will run from February 1 to March 17.

As part of the consultation a public meeting will be held at Cullen Primary School on Tuesday, February 7 at 7pm.

A consultation paper explaining the proposal in detail will be available on the council’s website at www.moray.gov.uk/rezoning from February 1 and paper copies will be available from Keith Grammar School, Buckie High, Cullen Primary, Cullen library and the Moray Council access point in Elgin.
