Cullen and Deskford Communtiy Council

Nomination papers are now available for anyone who would like to stand for Cullen and Deskford Community Council.

An interim election is being held following a request to Moray Council to re-establish the community council, which was dissolved recently due to the resignation of a number of members.

The community council was formed following the regular community council elections in October 2013. A number of members subsequently resigned or left the area and an interim election was held in 2015 to boost membership. However, due to a further decline in membership, a further interim election is to be held.

There are nine seats available - six for Cullen and three for Deskford.

Candidates have until 4pm on Thursday, September 8 to lodge nomination papers with the returning officer at the election office within Moray Council.

In the event of there being more candidates than seats available, an election will be held by postal ballot during September.
