An improved Dial-A-Bus service is to be introduced later this month between Garmouth/Kingston and Mosstodloch/Fochabers.

From Tuesday, August 16 passengers will be able to make a booking on the day of travel.

Currently bookings have to be made the previous day at the latest.

The change is being introduced in response to requests from residents in Garmouth and Kingston who have been given on-the-day appointments at the Fochabers medical centre.

A spokesman for Moray Council, which operates the Dial-A-Bus service, said requests made on the day would be accommodated where possible.

“We cannot guarantee availability and we would ask people to make bookings at least the day before wherever possible.”

Dial-A-Bus bookings can be made up to 14 days in advance.

Moray Council area stretches from Tomintoul in the south to the shores of the Moray Firth, from Keith in the east to Forres in the west. The council and its 4,500 employees respond to the needs of 95,510 residents in this beautiful part of Scotland, which nestles between Aberdeenshire and the Highlands.

Famous for its colony of dolphins, fabulous beaches and more malt whisky distilleries than any where else in Scotland, Moray is a thriving area and a great place to live.

Headquartered in  Elgin, the administrative capital of Moray.
