Dufftown landslip closes road
YESTERDAY (13 January) a landslip occurred on council-owned land between Church Street and Low Road in Dufftown.
Moray Council carried out an initial site visit yesterday, and has visited again today to further assess the extent of damage.
Although initial debris had been cleared from Low Road, further material has fallen overnight and it is considered that the slope above is too unstable, with the added risks of trees falling, to allow the road below the landslip to be re-opened safely.
Traffic will be required to use Church Street until additional safety measures such as concrete barriers and traffic lights, or landslip repairs, are implemented.
