Elgin library gets set for World Book Day

WORLD Book Day will be celebrated at Elgin library next Thursday (1 March) with a series of special activities.

Lined up is a Bookbug session and storytime, with staff dressing up as characters from the well-loved children’s author Julia Donaldson’s books. Library members will be able to find out more about the free eBooks, eAudiobooks and ComicPlus online services available to them.

Come along from 3pm to relax and reminisce, look at objects from the 50s, 60s and 70s, and browse through some books from those eras - all accompanied with a cuppa! A collection of old photographs from our local heritage centre will also be available to view throughout the day.

A Julia Donaldson themed drop-in craft session is being held between 6-7pm, for children aged between 6-10 years-old, while puzzles and treasure hunts for smaller children will be available all day. Everyone is welcome to attend the activities and there is no need to book in advance.

Famous for its colony of dolphins, fabulous beaches and more malt whisky distilleries than any where else in Scotland, Moray is a thriving area and a great place to live. Nestling between Aberdeenshire and the Highlands, Moray stretches from Tomintoul in the south to the shores of the Moray Firth, from Keith in the east to Brodie Castle in the west.
