Elgin Library opening hours change
Moray Council has updated its evening opening hours for Elgin Library, which will now close at 5pm on a Friday.
The revised opening hours start from this Friday, 9 February 2024.
The change comes due to staffing vacancies and Friday evenings experiencing a lower footfall than other evenings in the library, which was previously open until 8pm.
Opening hours on other days are not affected or changing.
Leader of Moray Council, Cllr Kathleen Robertson, said the change to hours is a sensible response to the current circumstances: “The lower footfall on a Friday evening makes it the most obvious to reduce hours at this time. Closing earlier on Fridays won’t impact existing staff, who will have their hours redistributed throughout the week.”
