Elgin nets walking netball trial
A walking netball trial held in Forres earlier this year is to continue - and extend to Elgin.
Moray Council was selected by Netball Scotland to carry out the pilot. After running sessions in Forres, the trial is to continue for another four week block in the town, beginning early November, with sessions also taking place in Elgin.
Walking netball is a slower version of the game, which is suitable for all ages and abilities and tailored to the needs of each participant. Newbies are welcome and a safe, comfortable and fun environment is guaranteed, as well as an outline of all the rules.
Sessions in Forres will run on a Thursday in the community centre from 2-3pm, beginning 9 November for four weeks. Elgin's sessions will also run for four weeks in the community centre each Monday from 11am-noon, commencing 6 November.
Each session is open to those over 18 years-old, and costs £3 or free to attend to Fit Life? members. More information is available from Moray Council's sports development team on 01343 563657, or head along to one of the sessions to chat to a qualified netball coach.
Famous for its colony of dolphins, fabulous beaches and more malt whisky distilleries than any where else in Scotland, Moray is a thriving area and a great place to live. Nestling between Aberdeenshire and the Highlands, Moray stretches from Tomintoul in the south to the shores of the Moray Firth, from Keith in the east to Brodie Castle in the west.
