Film premiere for young people in Moray

A FILM made by young people in Moray, showcasing their learning journey, premiered in Elgin earlier today.

Celebrating the Year of Young People, the film ‘XL Create 13’ is the culmination of an eight-week Activity Agreement learning programme, which saw 13 local youngsters learn first-hand the skills involved in music production, filming and editing, supported by Eden Court’s creative team.

Featured in the production are Covesea Lighthouse, Primrose Bay, Moray Arts Centre, Eden Court, the Findhorn Foundation and more. It was put together by the 13-strong group of young people aged 15 to 19, working towards accreditations including the John Muir, Duke of Edinburgh and Arts Awards.

Margaret Bayley, Moray Council’s Activity Agreement Worker, praised the efforts of the young people involved, and thanked the key partners who helped make the project happen.

Famous for its colony of dolphins, fabulous beaches and more malt whisky distilleries than any where else in Scotland, Moray is a thriving area and a great place to live. Nestling between Aberdeenshire and the Highlands, Moray stretches from Tomintoul in the south to the shores of the Moray Firth, from Keith in the east to Brodie Castle in the west.
