Find out more about becoming a councillor in Moray at information events ahead of the 2027 elections
People interested in making a difference in their community are being invited to attend a series of information events to find out more about becoming a councillor ahead of the local government elections in 2027.
Three free events are being organised to help prospective candidates understand the role of a councillor, learn more about the election process and hear first-hand from elected members about their experiences in local government.
One event in the new year is open to anyone considering standing for election, while two dedicated Elect Her sessions will encourage and support more women to consider putting themselves forward for public office.
The events are designed for people from all backgrounds and walks of life, whether they are seriously considering standing for election or simply want to learn more about how local government works.
Attendees will have the opportunity to hear about the responsibilities of councillors, the commitment involved, how decisions are made, and the support available to candidates throughout the election process.
