Further update on swimming pool fire at Keith Sports and Community Centre
We can confirm that the swimming pool at Keith Sports and Community Centre will reopen on Friday 2 October, following the fire at the facility on Sunday 27 September.
The fitness room, circular meeting room and sports hall reopened today, Wednesday 30 September, and are operating as normal.
The pool hall, water and changing rooms are being cleaned and prepared for reopening, while the steam room and sauna will remain closed as fire-damaged materials are removed and smoke-affected areas are cleaned.
With the affected area sealed off from the main pool hall, the swimming pool can reopen safely while the remaining work is completed.
The standard swimming timetable, including public swimming and lessons, will resume as normal from Friday.
