Glenernie Bridge works to begin next week

STRENGTHENING works to the Glenernie Bridge will begin next week.

A road closure will be in effect on the A940 Forres – Grantown Road, at the Glenernie Bridge, for eight weeks from Tuesday 8 May until Monday 2 July. As the local diversion route is unsuitable for HGVs, separate diversions are in place for cars and light commercial vehicles, and for HGVs.

The refurbishment will include vegetation clearance, masonry stitch repairs, picking and pointing, drainage, waterproofing and carriageway resurfacing, and will follow on consecutively from the current works on the B9007 at Logie Bridge.

Diversion for cars and light commercial vehicles:
A940 to junction with A939 Nairn – Grantown Road >> A939 to junction with B9007 Forres – Ferness Road >> B9007 to junction with A940 >> A940.

Diversion for HGVs:
A940 to junction with A939 Nairn – Grantown Road >> A939 to junction with A96 Nairn – Forres Road >> A96 to junction with A940 >> A940.
