Hopeman Primary School Nursery report published
The enthusiastic and motivated children at Hopeman Primary Nursery received high praise from Education Scotland in their recent inspection report.
The inspectors commended the caring nursery staff, who have high expectations for both the children and themselves. They are dedicated and committed to providing high-quality early learning experiences.
During the inspection, the team found that children are very engaged in their nursery activities, which helps them make good progress in their learning.
The interactions between staff and children were noted as a strong point, with staff effectively supporting and challenging children through a mix of activities led by adults and those initiated by the children themselves. This creative approach keeps children excited about learning.
The inspectors also highlighted the interesting ways staff plan and document children’s learning, helping them to take an active role in the process.
In terms of areas for improvement, the inspection identified a need to continue to develop approaches to strengthen links with the local community. It was highlighted that this would provide children with more opportunities to learn through real-life experiences and become active members of the community.
Two of the quality indicators focused on during the nursery inspection were Learning, teaching and assessment and Securing children’s progress. Both these indicators were graded as ‘Very Good’.
