Places are still available for an information session being held this weekend for prospective candidates in the forthcoming Moray Council elections.

Places are still available for an information session being held this weekend for prospective candidates in the forthcoming Moray Council elections.

The session will take place in the council chambers in Elgin on Saturday, March 4 from 10am to 12 noon.

Senior officers and the council’s election team will be on hand to outline what the role of a councillor involves and to answer questions.

Information will also be available on the nominations process and on the elections themselves, which take place on Thursday, May 4.

Elections will be held for all 26 seats across eight multi-member awards and councillors will serve a five-year term.

The session will be informal and will be entirely without commitment from those in attendance.
