Keith residents asked to choose Active Travel projects with £25,000 available to spend
Moray Council’s Active Travel team is asking the Keith community how it wants to spend a £25,000 fund which is available for cycle parking and shelters, and cycle repair stations.
Ideas submitted by residents have been developed into 10 feasible projects.
The call is now going out for residents to vote for their favourite projects with those receiving the most votes winning a share of the £25,000.
Voting can be done by clicking here and the poll closes at midnight on Friday 23rd June.

The community was asked about the type of active travel infrastructure they’d like to see, and where they’d like to see it situated.
The consultation was done under Moray Council’s Participatory Budgeting programme.
Participatory budgeting is a concept that allows communities to decide how public money should be spent in their area.
The way it works is ideas about how a budget should be spent are generated and then feasibility-checked to ensure they meet funding criteria.
The community then votes for their favoured options and those winning most votes get funded.
The term Active Travel means getting about in a way that makes you physically active, like walking or cycling, or wheeling (e.g. a wheelchair, mobility aid, tricycle, or children’s push scooter).
It includes every day journeys, like going to school, shops, or work, or taking exercise or some recreation.
As well as being good for individual health and wellbeing, active travel helps to reduce carbon emissions and traffic congestion and to mitigate climate change.
