Keyworker summer holiday childcare needs surveyed
Moray Council is asking keyworkers for their childcare needs over summer, and from August 2020, to assess demand.
With the summer holidays approaching, the Scottish Government has instructed that keyworker childcare should continue. Families in Moray are being asked their requirements over this period by completing this survey, with the council also continuing to plan for requirements beyond August.
The allocation of places will continue to be prioritised according to the Scottish Government keyworker criteria. Both parents or carers, where relevant, must be keyworkers to be entitled to childcare places, and should only be applied for if the situation is critical with no other childcare options available.
The survey should only be completed if a place will be taken up and completing the survey does not guarantee a place.
Moray Council’s Chief Education Officer, Vivienne Cross, said: “The range and quality of activities on offer so far has been incredible and the tireless dedication of our staff and volunteers has been tremendous.
“While we expect this to continue we’re aware that many families will be taking well-earned holidays and our summer programme may reflect a reduced demand on our keyworker childcare hubs.”
The survey should be completed by keyworker families already accessing childcare through existing hubs by Sunday 14 June 2020 at midnight. The current application form has been suspended in the meantime.
