Knockando Primary School inspection report released
The teamwork of the teaching staff and leadership at the Moray primary school has been commended by inspectors from Education Scotland.
The inspection report highlights strengths in the school’s work, including the effective teamwork of all staff helping to develop positive relationships, remove learning barriers and support high-quality learning and teaching.
The report goes on to praise the confident and friendly children who are successfully demonstrating the school values, indicating they are engaged and enthusiastic learners.
Of the two quality assessments focused on during the school inspection one was graded as ‘good’ and one as ‘satisfactory’.
Knockando Primary school were encouraged to continue to raise attainment in literacy and numeracy, and to develop approaches in planning in all areas of the curriculum, ensuring all children make the best progress possible.
The Inspectors added: “We are confident that the school has the capacity to improve and so we will make no more visits in connection with this inspection.”
Knockando’s Head Teacher, Hayley Burns, said: “I’m delighted that the many strengths of our school have been highlighted in this report. The entire staff team work hard to create a positive learning experience for every single pupil and we’ll continue to look ahead to future visions and actions so that may continue.”
Moray Council’s Chief Education Officer, Vivienne Cross, said: “It’s great to hear the results from the positive inspection report from Knockando Primary school. Teamwork, high quality learning and teaching and positive relationships are clearly demonstrated at the school and it’s great to see this being recognised by inspectors.”
