Landmark Keith building up for sale

A LANDMARK building in Keith has been put on the market by Moray Council.

The B-listed Institute on Mid Street, which features an octagonal clock tower, was previously used as council offices but declared surplus to requirements in 2016.

Now a buyer is being sought for the property, which amounts to some 611 square metres, currently laid out as offices and storage on ground and first floors with a hall located at the rear of ground floor. A car parking area, located at the rear of the property, is accessed from Institute Lane West.

Planners have indicated that, providing the ground floor remains primarily for visiting members of the public, the upper floors have the potential to be used as residential, commercial, office or entertainment developments. Change of use, however, would require planning and building control consent.
