Landslip closes road south of Fochabers

Heavy rain has caused a landslip that has closed the Ordiquish road south of Fochabers, about 300m north of Culfoldie Farm.

Land to the side of the road is steeply banked, and approximately 10mts of this has slipped down towards the Burn of Aultderg some 40mts below. This has undermined the edge of the road which is now liable to collapse.

The initial closure will be in place until the end of August, and diversion signs are in place to advise drivers of the detour.

Although closed to vehicle traffic the road is still open for use as the Speyside Way trail.

Barriers have been erected to guide pedestrians safely past the slip.
