Lane closure extended at Craigellachie Bridge

A LANE closure on the A941 at the Craigellachie Bridge is expected to remain in place for four weeks while investigative works to the structure are carried out.

A recent inspection by Moray Council engineers highlighted damage to one of the bearings on the bridge so, in the interests of public safety, an inspection on the other bearings will be undertaken.

Scaffolding will be erected and bearing plates removed, which is estimated to take a minimum of three weeks, and the temporary lane closure will be in effect for the duration of this operation.

Once all the bearings on the bridge have been examined by engineers and remedial work confirmed, Moray Council will be better placed to estimate the time it will take to have the bridge fully operational.
