Lights off to mark Earth Hour

ILLUMINATED landmarks in Elgin will be plunged into darkness to mark Earth Hour.

This Saturday, between 8.30 – 9.30pm, Moray Council will turn off lights at the Landshut Bridge, along with the Wolf of Badenoch and Drummer Boy statues, and the tower on the High Street.

WWF’s Earth Hour is celebrated annually by millions across the world; this year they’re asking people to make a ‘promise to the planet’, by reducing energy consumption, switching to green energy or cutting down on the amount of plastic they use.

Famous for its colony of dolphins, fabulous beaches and more malt whisky distilleries than any where else in Scotland, Moray is a thriving area and a great place to live. Nestling between Aberdeenshire and the Highlands, Moray stretches from Tomintoul in the south to the shores of the Moray Firth, from Keith in the east to Brodie Castle in the west.
