Summer reading challenge 2024

Marvelous Makers needed for summer reading challenge

Primary school children in Moray are encouraged to become Marvelous Makers this summer as they fire up their imaginations through the power of reading and creative expression.

The Summer Reading Challenge 2024, ‘Marvelous Makers’, is a celebration of kids’ creativity and self-expression. By reading books and collecting incentives at Moray Libraries, young readers can foster their creative thinking skills over the summer break.

Developed by The Reading Agency in partnership with Create, a leading arts charity, and public libraries, children are encouraged to explore new books and stories while taking part in free activities.

The challenge kicks off on Saturday 22 June and runs until 31 August with all Moray Libraries taking part.

To take part in the ‘Marvelous Makers’, children need to sign up at their nearest library where they will be set a reading goal and throughout the challenge will collect rewards for reading anything they enjoy.

Libraries across Moray are proud to offer a vast array of different books for children of all ages and abilities. Any library book on any subject can be borrowed and used to complete the challenge. A number of puzzles and activities will also be available for children to enjoy throughout the summer period in all Moray Council libraries.
