Moray businesses can ‘meet the buyer’ at procurement event

Moray businesses are being invited to ‘meet the buyer’ at the north of Scotland’s largest free procurement event.

Meet the Buyer North offers businesses the chance to connect with buyers from the private and public sector across the north of Scotland, including Moray.

They can learn about upcoming contracts and opportunities worth £14.5 billion in Scotland.

The event will take place at the Music Hall in Aberdeen on Tuesday 12 September from 10am-4pm.

Councillor Marc Macrae, chairman of Moray Council's economic development and infrastructure services committee, said this is a great opportunity for small to medium sized enterprises, social enterprises, and third-sector organisations to get tender ready.

“I hope scores of Moray businesses will seize upon this chance to introduce their company, talk to the key contacts, and see what tenders and projects buyers have in the pipeline for local businesses for the supply of materials, goods, and services.”

Meet the Buyer North is being organised by The Supplier Development Programme, a partnership of Local Authorities, Scottish Government and other public bodies, that provides free tendering support to small and medium sized enterprises.

Fiona Conti, Chair of the Supplier Development Programme and Strategic Procurement Manager at Commercial & Procurement Shared Services (CPSS), is delighted to be hosting the event.

“There are fantastic benefits to having a public sector buyer as a customer for small businesses, including getting paid within 30 days as a legal maximum, which offers cashflow they can count on.”

Businesses of all sizes are eligible to attend, and all must register a free account with SDP to book a place.
