Moray childcare sector comes together to help shape the future
Childcare providers, schools, employers, training providers and community organisations from across Moray are being invited to attend a major networking event focused on the future of childcare in the region.
The Moray Childcare Network Event will take place on Friday 21 August 2026 from 9am until 1pm at the AGBC Conference Centre, UHI Moray, Elgin. The event is free to attend and brings together partners from across the childcare sector for a morning of collaboration, updates and discussion.
Organised through Moray Pathways and Moray Council's Employability Team, the event aims to strengthen connections between organisations, showcase current projects and opportunities, and support future planning for childcare services across Moray.
Attendees will hear from a range of speakers, learn about developments taking place locally and nationally, and have the opportunity to share ideas and help shape future childcare provision.
The event will open with remarks from Moray Council Leader, Councillor Kathleen Robertson. It will also be attended by Laura Mitchell MSP and Karen Fraser, Senior Policy Officer with the Scottish Government, highlighting the importance of the event at both local and national level.

This event is a fantastic opportunity for organisations across Moray to come together, share knowledge and build the partnerships needed to strengthen childcare provision for the future.
“We know that good childcare helps parents access employment and training opportunities, supports children's development and contributes to the wellbeing of our communities. I would encourage anyone working in or connected to the childcare sector to come along and be part of the conversation.”
The event reflects the collaborative work already taking place across Moray to improve childcare provision, support workforce development and create better opportunities for children and young people.
With around 70 places already booked and capacity for up to 120 attendees, organisers are encouraging anyone involved in childcare, education, employability, community development or family support services to secure a place.
