ASN Survey

Moray Council asks parents and carers for feedback on Additional Support Needs services

Moray Council is inviting parents and carers to share their feedback as part of an ongoing review of Additional Support Needs (ASN) services.

The review aims to help improve the support available to children and young people with additional support needs across Moray.

The survey covers a range of topics, including the nature of additional support needs, satisfaction with current services and inclusion in mainstream schools. Respondents are also encouraged to suggest improvements for local support activities, such as after-school clubs and holiday programmes, to better support children with ASN.

All feedback will remain anonymous, ensuring that families can share their experiences openly. If more than one child in the family has ASN, separate responses can be given to reflect each child’s unique needs.

The survey closes on 31 March 2025 and feedback provided will directly influence developments in Moray’s ASN provision. A summary of the findings will be shared later in the summer term.

Chair of Moray Council’s Education, Communities and Leisure Services Committee, Cllr Kathleen Robertson, said: “We’re dedicated to providing the best possible support for every child in Moray. This review offers a valuable opportunity for families to influence the direction of ASN services, helping us build a more inclusive and supportive educational experience for all children. I encourage all parents and carers to share their feedback, as your insights are essential in ensuring that all children receive the care and resources they need to reach their full potential.”

Moray Council is also looking to establish focus groups on various educational topics, including ASN. To express an interest in joining future focus group discussions or to find out more information, contact the Moray Education team at education@moray.gov.uk
