Moray Council helps public to choose traders with confidence

Moray residents now have access to reliable local traders under a Moray Council-backed Trusted Trader scheme.

A growing number of businesses are joining the scheme, including home decorators and joiners, electricians, plumbers and a carpet and upholstery cleaning firm.

The Trusted Trader scheme only accepts businesses that are committed to operating in a legal and far way. All traders are checked and approved by Moray Council’s Trading Standards team and the scheme is backed by Police Scotland

Cllr Marc Macrae, chair of Moray Council’s Economic Development and Infrastructure Services Committee, said: “The Trusted Trader scheme gives Moray residents confidence to  find a reliable trader in Moray, and I’m delighted we have this in place to help protect our resident from rogue traders.

“I’d encourage householders to use the scheme when looking to have work done and for local businesses to join before our current half price sign-up offer runs out.”

Residents can find a Trusted Trader on the council’s website.

Traders interested in joining the scheme can visit the Moray Trusted Trader website. The process takes around 10 minutes and a half-price offer of £120 is still open for a limited period.
