Moray Council praises response to Storm Amy
Moray Council’s leader and Chief Executive have thanked emergency services, staff and the public for their efforts in managing the challenges posed by Storm Amy.
Moray was affected by strong winds and heavy rain over the weekend, with the stormy weather causing widespread disruption including power outages, fallen trees and travel delays.
Leader Cllr Kathleen Robertson said: “Storm Amy brought some challenges, but thanks to the quick response from Moray Council staff, emergency services and volunteers, disruption was kept to a minimum. Teams worked diligently to clear roads, remove debris and ensure support for vulnerable residents.
“We also appreciate the public’s cooperation in following safety advice, which helped reduce the storm's impact and ensured everyone’s safety.”
Moray Council Chief Executive Karen Greaves BEM added: “The commitment of Moray Council colleagues and partners helped keep disruption to a minimum. I’d like to thank everyone for their professionalism, particularly under difficult conditions. I’d also like to thank the public for their continued patience and understanding. It makes a huge difference, and we appreciate everyone’s cooperation and commitment to staying safe.”
