How do we spend the budget - 2024-25

Moray Council responds to feedback and extends budget 2025 survey

Following public feedback, Moray Council, has extended its budget priorities survey until midnight on Sunday 24 November.

The public workshops planned for 12 November have also been postponed until there are more defined proposals to discuss, following feedback from those interested in attending.

The council continues to face a difficult financial situation and the survey is in the context of a further £12.7m of savings being needed over the next two years. More background information is available online.

Residents can complete the survey online here.

Moray Council’s Interim Chief Executive, John Mundell, said the council is happy to be led by the public on these matters. “The feedback we received was that while participants are happy to complete the survey, which looks at overall service priorities, they wanted to wait until more specific proposals for changes are released to take part in the workshop.

“We’re happy to be led by residents on this, we want to make sure our consultation is the most useful for you so we get meaningful engagement on service specific proposals. Elected Members and officers are working on these just now and we’ll rearrange the workshops to look at these in more depth at a later date.

“It’s worth having your say now, though, on the importance of services to you and your household as these results will influence the specific proposals we come back with at the workshops.”
