Moray Council invites feedback on allotment-holder rulebook

Moray Council is inviting feedback from residents on rules it has drafted for people holding allotments on sites it owns and manages.

The public consultation document, available on its website, is a statutory requirement of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015.

A hard copy can be viewed at Moray Council HQ, at the annex building on Elgin High Street, as well as in all Moray libraries, and at the Elgin Allotments Association on Ashgrove Road in Elgin.

The consultation is open until 18 December 2023 and responses can be emailed to  CSU@moray.gov.uk, or posted to Moray Council Office (CSU – Allotments), High Street, Elgin, IV30 1BX.

Chair of the council’s Corporate Committee, Cllr Bridget Mustard, said: “Community feedback is essential in ensuring we have in place a set of Allotment Regulations that help support, regulate, and facilitate more activity. I would encourage people to take part in this exercise.”
