Moray harbours drop-in workshop

A drop-in workshop will take place this weekend to hear people’s views on the future development of council-owned harbours in Moray.

Individual development plans are being drawn up for all six harbours – Buckie, Burghead, Hopeman, Findochty, Portknockie and Cullen.

The drop-in session, which is being held at Lhanbryde Community Centre on Saturday from 9.30am to 1pm, will form part of a consultation with harbour users and the wider public.

Buckie and Burghead are primarily commercial harbours while the others are recreational.

The council’s harbour operations manager, Duncan Brown, said: “Elected members agreed earlier this year to consult with users and local communities on development plans for the harbours which are a valuable asset to Moray both in terms of commercial and recreational use.

“Anyone with an interest in any or all of the harbours is welcome to attend Saturday’s workshop and help generate ideas for a bespoke plan for each harbour.”
