Moray Inclusion Games to launch Moray Disability Sports Hub
People across Moray are being invited to discover inclusive sports opportunities and celebrate the launch of the new Moray Disability Sports Hub later this month.
The free event takes place on Saturday 22 August 2026, from 10am to 1.30pm at Moray Sports Centre, Linkwood Road, Elgin with opening speeches at 11am. It will bring together local sports clubs, community organisations and disabled people to showcase the range of inclusive sporting opportunities available across Moray.
Visitors will have the chance to take part in a variety of free ‘come and try’ activities, including boccia, indoor curling, table cricket, taekwondo and swordseat fencing. Activity leaders will be on hand throughout the day to introduce participants to the sports and explain how to get involved locally.
The event will also feature information stalls from organisations including Moray Active Schools and Community Sport, Moray Reach Out, Moray UHI, North East Sensory Services, Elgin Sports Community Trust, Active Recovery Moray and Police Scotland.
The Moray Disability Sports Hub was established to use the power of sport to improve access to physical activity and the benefits it brings. Since its first meeting almost two years ago, partners including local sports clubs, voluntary and third-sector organisations, Moray Council, Moray Health and Social Care Partnership, sportscotland, Scottish Disability Sport and Grampian Disability Sport have worked together to develop more inclusive opportunities in the area.
The Hub aims to shift the focus away from disability itself and towards recognising and celebrating the skills, abilities and potential of disabled people, while helping remove barriers to participation in sport and physical activity.

Everyone should have the chance to enjoy the benefits of sport and physical activity, regardless of ability. The Hub will help bring organisations, clubs and communities together to remove barriers and create more opportunities for disabled people to participate, develop skills and build connections. I would encourage anyone with an interest in inclusive sport to head along to the Moray Inclusion Games, find out what's available and help shape the future of disability sport in Moray."

Visitors will also be able to network with clubs and organisations and find out more about inclusive sports opportunities available throughout Moray.
The Moray Inclusion Games and launch of the Moray Disability Sports Hub are free to attend, and everyone is welcome.
