Moray Library services still open for business online
Following the success of their online Bookbug birthday celebrations in May, Moray Libraries are planning more live sessions every two weeks starting Friday 5th June at 2pm. The Moray Libraries Bookbug Youtube channel has stories, rhymes and songs with familiar faces. All content is suitable for babies and toddlers.
New Bookbug live videos, eBooks, eAudiobooks, eComics and an online book group are just some of the library services continuing to connect Moray residents, contributing to the mental health and wellbeing for all.
eAudiobooks and eBooks continue to be popular with over 1500 issues between the two formats during May. eComics have also been added to our digital lending platform (RBdigital) which offers graphic novels for all ages such as Disney, My Little Pony and Marvel.
eReference resources are on offer through our website including three generations of Britannica and SCRAN, the history and culture site which lets you learn directly by accessing images, movies, sounds and virtual reality. There are one million heritage records from museums, galleries, archives and media.
A new book group on the Moray Libraries Facebook page runs on the third Monday of the month where questions and discussions about a selected book can be found. Last month's feature was The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley and this month it is Normal People by Sally Rooney, the book on which the recent TV adaptation was based.
This is in addition to the learning advice and support for ECDL students who are fully supported virtually by libraries staff to continue to study towards the completion their certification. Students can email elgin.library@moray.gov.uk for further information.
The Essential Skills team supports adults to develop new skills and work on their reading, writing and using numbers. The team continues to work with learners to use technology in new ways to help keep in touch and progress learning. If you don’t have access to technology they can still offer you home learning packs, support phone calls and text. To find out more contact moira.strathdee@moray.gov.uk or call 07966120572.
Online membership applications are also still being accepted to allow new borrowers access to all of the detailed services.
