Moray's NQTs for 2025

Moray welcomes 32 newly qualified teachers for the new school year

Moray Council is pleased to welcome 32 Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) who are starting their teaching careers across the region this academic year.

Of the new teachers, 17 will be working in primary schools and 15 in secondary schools, bringing fresh energy and ideas to classrooms across Moray.

Cllr Kathleen Robertson, Chair of the Education, Children’s and Leisure Services Committee, said: “It’s inspiring to see new teachers choosing Moray to begin their careers. Their enthusiasm and commitment are vital to the future of education in our communities. We’re proud to support them and look forward to the positive impact they’ll have in our schools.”

Vivienne Cross, Head of Education at Moray Council, added: “Welcoming 32 newly qualified teachers to our schools is a wonderful way to start the new term. These teachers bring fresh perspectives that will benefit our students greatly. It’s also fantastic to see so many of last year’s teachers staying on with us, continuing to contribute to our educational landscape. I wish all our teachers, new and returning, a successful and rewarding year ahead.”

The council also noted that 23 teachers from last year’s intake have chosen to stay in Moray, continuing to support local education in various roles including full-time, part-time, and supply positions.
