Moray youngsters take part in annual cross country event

Almost 700 runners took to Gordon Castle grounds to participate in the Moray Primary Schools Cross Country event on Saturday 23 March.

The event, which is the largest one-off participation event on the Active Schools calendar, included a fun run for P1-3 pupils and competitive races for the older age groups.

The event is organised by the Moray Active Schools and Community Sport team in partnership with Sportscotland and Moray Council.

Chair of Moray Council’s Education, Communities and Leisure Services Committee, Cllr Kathleen Robertson, said: “Ensuring our children and young people have access to facilities and events that encourage them to be active is extremely important.
