Moray’s homelessness support partnership renewed
Moray Council has agreed a new three-year contract with Sacro, to provide supported accommodation for people experiencing homelessness.
The service, based at Guildry House in Elgin, offers housing and tailored support to up to 10 people at a time, helping them build the confidence and capabilities needed to live independently within their communities.
Residents are helped to develop and re-learn essential skills required for everyday living, such as cooking, budgeting, managing a tenancy and accessing community resources.
Chair of Moray Council’s Housing and Community Safety Committee, Cllr Amber Dunbar, said: “I am very pleased that we have been able to continue our partnership with Sacro, which has played a key role in ensuring some of the most vulnerable members of our community get the support they need to move forward with their lives.
“Guildry House is a place where people have been able to rebuild their independence, wellbeing and their future.”
Kathleen Donaldson, Supported Accommodation Service Manager, Sacro added: “Being able to live independently is something many of us take for granted, yet it’s a fundamental part of being an active and accountable member of our community.
“We are delighted to extend our longstanding partnership with Moray Council by providing this valuable service to the people of Moray who need our support.”
