Name chosen for new school

Elgin’s new primary school is to be called Linkwood Primary.

Elgin’s new primary school is to be called Linkwood Primary.

The suggestion – supported by parents and Elgin Community Council – was approved by Moray Council’s children and young people’s services committee today.

The school will welcome its first pupils in August in temporary premises at the East End Primary School annexe in Elgin.

A permanent site for the school has been earmarked at Linkwood on the south-eastern outskirts of Elgin where it is due to be ready for occupation in August 2018.



Moray Council area stretches from Tomintoul in the south to the shores of the Moray Firth, from Keith in the east to Forres in the west.
