APSE Award

National award for Moray Council Fleet Services team

The team responsible for maintaining and managing more than 550 council vehicles and 600 items of plant machinery at Moray Council has won a major national accolade.

The local authority’s Fleet Services team has won a Gold award at the Association for Public Service Excellence (APSE) Scotland Striving for Excellence Awards, which recognise outstanding work and innovation in frontline public services.

The team provides a range of services outside of the maintenance of Council vehicles, including taxi and MOT testing for the public as well as council vehicles; central procurement and stores; and driver assessments for taxi and minibus drivers.

The APSE awards celebrate excellence and innovation in local government frontline services across the UK, with councils recognised for delivering high quality services and responding positively to challenges facing the sector.

Moray Council Leader Cllr Kathleen Robertson said: “Congratulations to everyone in Fleet Services on this fantastic achievement. Winning a Gold award at a national level is a real credit to the team’s hard work and dedication. The service plays an important role in supporting Council operations every day and this recognition highlights the high standards they deliver on a daily basis.”

Moray Council Chief Executive Karen Greaves added: “This award is a well-deserved recognition of the commitment and teamwork within Fleet Services. I’m very pleased to see the work they’ve done acknowledged nationally – it’s very much deserved.”
