New members invited to join Moray Access Panel

The Moray Access Panel is inviting anyone locally living with disability issues, or in a supporting role, to join them in their campaign for disability equality.

The group will work with organisations like Moray Council,  community councils, charities, and employers, to ensure disabled people have fair access, in the broadest sense, to roads, town centres, employment, education, health, transport, the countryside, and leisure and recreational facilities.

Moray Council’s Equalities Champion, Cllr Juli Harris, is encouraging people of all backgrounds to join the group, saying: “A diverse access panel representing disabled people of all ages can be a powerful instrument. Pavements were recently dropped and made safer in Nairn thanks to a push from the town's access panel. These forums are a force for good.”
