New Multiply grant scheme open in Moray

Moray Council has opened a new £100,000 grant scheme to help organisations working with others who struggle with numbers.

Multiply is a UK Government fund which aims to help people improve their confidence with numbers. The funding aims to support groups and organisations who want to work with people to improve their confidence for life, learning or managing money.

In some cases, this may be taking people through actual qualifications but in others it will be about helping people with their everyday numeracy.

A number of third sector partners are delivering Multiply activity in Moray. Now the local authority is keen to see new applications from groups or organisations already reaching or aware of people who would benefit from help to improve their numeracy skills.

Deadline for applications for grants up to £25,000 is midnight on Sunday 14 April 2024 and the form can be found online here.

Chair of Moray Council’s Education, Children’s and Leisure Services Committee, Cllr Kathleen Robertson, said: “Some people need a bit more confidence when it comes to numeracy skills and the work being done in the community to boost that already is fantastic. Now, we’re able to support the organisations and groups delivering these sessions with this UK Government funding and I encourage anyone involved with such activity to get your application in before the deadline.”
